This publication presents a selection of drawings produced by first-year students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at the Higher Polytechnic School of San Pablo CEU University (academic year 2025–2026) and forms part of the recognition that the module ‘Analysis of Architectural Forms I’, in collaboration with the University Library, has sought to pay tribute to the writers who, at the dawn of the 20th century, described Madrid’s natural landscape.

The activity begins in the classrooms with the reading of a selection of literary extracts by Baroja, Azorín, Unamuno, Valle-Inclán, Pardo Bazán, Cela and Pérez Galdós, in which the fields, riverbanks and skies of Madrid are ‘drawn’, with the aim of awakening the students’ spatial and sensory awareness, fostering their creativity and improving their ability to express themselves through drawing.

This is the best way to showcase works of exceptional artistic quality and an unbeatable opportunity to present our educational project in the graphic training of architecture students, which for over fifty years has been adapting to changing times without losing its distinctive and innovative character.
